American Goldfinch
Yellow and violet are perfect color complements - opposite each other on the color wheel. The American Goldfinch, the official Washington state bird, and lilacs, the official flower of Spokane Washington, complement each other beautifully. I am a lifelong resident of Washington, and Spokane is my hometown.

Gardening and birding bring me much joy which makes this painting even more meaningful to me. American Goldfinch was commissioned by a friend residing in Spokane.
