Kinda Bluesy
Truly blue flowers are few and far between in most gardens. Even these blue hydrangeas live just on the edge of pinkness; their rich color dependent upon soil acidity.
In the Tri-Cities area, amending the soil to maintain the necessary acidity for blue blooms is an ongoing labor of love. The gardener must be diligent for many seasons with applications of fertilizer and compost to
counteract the alkaline soil.
My friend Martha grew these azure lovlies.
